Radiodetection locating equipment at CFT
Whoever wants to know where a cable or pipe runs in the ground ends up with Radiodetection sooner or later: transmitters put the signal on the line, receivers read it at the surface – route, depth, branches. The range at CFT reaches from the rugged site locator to precision location with documentation; the choice between them decides what the instrument is worth in everyday use. That is exactly what the advice is for.

Radiodetection product families
- Cable avoidance tools for the construction site (C.A.T4 range, Genny4)
- Precision location with transmitter and receiver (RD7200, RD8200 range)
- Sondes for non-metallic pipes (u-LOCATE, Microsonde, FlexiSonde)
- Acoustic pipe location and pressure pipes (RD510, Transonde)
- Cable faults, markers and special tasks (LEXXI, MRX, RD312, PCMx)
The Radiodetection range
From the C.A.T4 site locator to precision location with RD7200 and RD8200: the families cover the span from the quick route check to survey-grade capture with documentation. Sondes such as u-LOCATE and FlexiSonde make non-metallic pipes traceable, RD510 and Transonde listen to pressure pipes, and LEXXI, MRX, RD312 and PCMx stand ready for special tasks. Which chain fits your job is settled in the conversation before the order – not in the shopping basket.
What these instruments are used for
Transmitter and receiver systems from Radiodetection make the route of pipes and cables in the ground visible, so that it can be followed and marked at the surface. Before excavation the area is scanned with them, so that it is established what lies in the ground; located points can be recorded for a utility cadastre. Into non-metallic lines, plastic pipes for instance, a sonde is introduced, which the receiver locates from the surface. When a sonde is the better answer than a transmitter is decided by the material and the accessibility of the line. Time domain reflectometry additionally determines at what distance a fault lies in the cable.
Introduction and training
Every electrical locating instrument bought from us comes with an introduction, expressly outdoors on the ground rather than only in the meeting room. Building on that, there is training in line location: applying the signal, recognising interference, judging depths.
Service, repair and calibration
Repair, service and calibration run through the group’s workshop service with a direct line to the manufacturer – with findings and a cost estimate before the work.
Frequently asked questions
C.A.T4 or RD8200 – how is that decided?
By the task: the C.A.T4 range is the rugged site instrument for the quick check ahead of the excavator; the RD ranges deliver precision including documentation for surveying and cadastre. Many companies run both – in different hands.
Does a Radiodetection receiver also locate plastic pipes?
Not directly – plastic carries no signal. That is what the sondes are for: they are inserted into the pipe and located from the surface. Which sonde fits which dimension, we tell you before the purchase.
Can the instruments be rented instead of bought?
Ask us – depending on instrument and period we will find a solution. Tell us how long you need the instrument and what for; that decides whether renting or buying is the cheaper way.
