F.A.S.T at CFT: measuring technology for water loss, leak detection and gas tracing

Water loss is first of all a measuring question: how much is lost, in which section, and where exactly does it escape? F.A.S.T builds the measuring chain for this – from the inflow meter through listening devices and correlators to hydrogen tracer gas for the cases where there is nothing left to hear. This chain stands in our sales programme – link by link.

The F.A.S.T range

Inflow and flow measurement for the balance, acoustic prelocation and pinpointing for the search, correlators and pipe microphones for narrowing down, hydrogen as tracer gas for silent leaks, plus pressure measurement and tools for network work. For waterworks and installation companies we put together the chain that fits the network size.

What these instruments are used for

Because the group has been finding leaks itself for decades. Whoever buys a listening device or a correlator from us talks first to someone who knows what a leak sounds like under asphalt – and how interference differs from it.

Introduction and training

Every electrical instrument bought from us comes with an introduction. For listening technology and correlation that goes double: the ear learns at the instrument, not from the manual.

Service, repair and calibration

We do not hold a manufacturer’s repair authorisation for F.A.S.T. Without one we do not open an instrument – not even one you bought from us. Call us: we will tell you where it belongs and handle the arrangements with the manufacturer.

Frequently asked questions

Where does a waterworks with high losses best begin?

With the balance: inflow measurement per zone shows WHERE the network loses, before anyone listens anywhere. Then follow prelocation in the section and pinpointing at the spot – the measuring chain mirrors exactly this sequence.

When is hydrogen needed as tracer gas?

When acoustics have nothing left to offer: small leaks, plastic pipes, deep positions. The gas mixture is fed in and picked up at the surface with the detector – quiet leaks are found after all.

Does CFT also sell to private home owners?

The measuring chain is aimed at companies and utilities – it is built for networks, not for the single water problem in a house.

Orders run through SEMPERDEAL, the group’s online shop – advice and introduction come from us.

Ask for advice

We advise before you order.

Tell us what it is about – an instrument, accessories, a spare part or advice. We will tell you what these instruments can do.

What happens next

  1. We check whether the instrument fits your task – and tell you if it does not.
  2. You receive an offer including instruction; service and calibration where we hold the manufacturer’s authorisation.
  3. On request we demonstrate it on a real case beforehand.
